It began with a picture book and a blurry photo
Then one day two large eyes and
A brusque hello
And then unconstrained characters in ink

Is so simple but
The reason is complicated

The sunlight from the window 
Does not shine
Into my heart 

In the attic 
Rats run 
Afternoon 

Window is open
Overlapping flat liquid crystal
Without end
